After severe flooding devastated communities in Faisalabad, Pakistan, our staff member Aroob set out to visit families and listen to their needs. During one of these visits, she met a widow who was preparing to marry off her daughter. The woman was distraught, fearful that the marriage would lead to hardship for her daughter.
Gently, Aroob offered to pray with her—for her daughter and for a better proposal. She encouraged the woman to trust that Jesus hears and answers prayer.
Two weeks later, when Aroob returned to the village to distribute bedding and food provided by E4, the woman hurried to find her. “Who do you pray to?” she asked.
Aroob replied once again about our Lord, “Jesus Christ.” she said
The woman smiled and said, “Your God answers prayers. The day after you prayed with me, a wonderful proposal came from a man with a strong family and a good job.” She knew it was an answer from Jesus.
That same day, Aroob shared the Gospel with the community once again and distributed quilts and food to more than 40 families. Many rejoiced, thanking Jesus and lifting their voices in worship.
