As a pastor, he cares deeply about the spiritual growth and nurturing of the men, women, and young people in his care. He also serves as the Elder Board Chair, overseeing elders, and often does Biblical counseling as well. Matt and his wife Cindy have been married for 32 years and have three grown sons and a daughter in college. Recent involvement in missions have included:
Rev. David King – Board Member
David has broad experience in pastoral ministry, overseas mission and non-profit organizations. Most recently, he assisted leading the relaunch of a mission enterprise among the underserved, overlooked and unreached ethnic groups in the mountain regions of the Golden Triangle in Southeast Asia. Prior to that, he and his wife of 45 years, Ty, served in Bangkok, Thailand for over 20 years as church planters, pastors, seminary teachers and mission leaders. In between overseas stints, for 20 years they served in the USA church as well. This included serving as Eric Schmidt’s youth pastor!
David and his wife have 3 married children and 8 grandchildren and currently reside in York, Pennsylvania, serving as a layperson in the church David formerly pastored for 15 years.
Eric Schmidt - Cofounder and President
Eric volunteered for 12 years overseeing E4 while he worked as a Project Manager for a design firm and managed accounts for Visa, Nike and other companies. Throughout 2022, God made it abundantly clear that Eric was supposed to focus more of his time on E4 Project, and since then, he has volunteered in a much more involved way, leading the organization while running his own design firm on the side. Eric brings strong leadership skills and business sense to the organization. He has a Masters of Theology from Alliance Theological Seminary and has led many ministries throughout the years. Eric spends his free time with his wife, Brynn and their two young-adult sons, and is passionate about being in nature - rock climbing, hiking, and camping.
Brynn Alise Schmidt - Cofounder and Operations Manager
Brynn’s background is in both missions and the business world. She has experience in operations, team management, accounting, social media and writing. She served on the Missions Leadership Team at Flatirons Community Church for four years and also led the Neighborhood Transformation team at this church, serving the poorest school in Boulder County. She was a board member for the Sanchez Foundation, serving the school as well. She too has been serving E4 Project since she and Eric founded the organization in 2010. She loves to spend her free time with her family in the outdoors or at the beach, and is a nature and wildlife photographer.
Kris Weeks – Board Member
Kris has had several vocations. She was an engineer, a substitute teacher, a banquet waitress at a large restaurant, and an insurance broker. Little did she know that The Lord was preparing her for her current vocation, the co-owner of Leen’s Lodge, a Sporting Lodge in Grand Lake Stream, Maine. All skills learned from previous positions are used well at the lodge, which she has co-owned with her husband, Scott, since 2017.
Her Missions activity has utilized her fluency in Spanish by teaching English as a Second Language with the Christian organization, Motivated Moms, and by taking two trips to Puebla, Mexico to help build a church there.
Kris has been married since 1990, has two grown children, and one granddaughter. In her free time, she loves to boat in the summer and read in the winter. She is excited to see how The Lord uses Leen’s Lodge to help grow the Kingdom through the E4 Project.
Scott Weeks – Board Member
Scott has more than 30 years of experience as a project manager, technical leader, people manager, and private business owner in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout those years, Scott enjoyed and gained experience in being a problem solver, motivator, and people manager at work, and a host of social gatherings at home.
In 2017, God brought about an opportunity that allowed Scott to exercise his gifts in a completely new way through the purchase of Leen’s Lodge, a Sporting Lodge in Grand Lake Stream, Maine. The story leading to lodge ownership is packed with godly advisors, God’s providence, and answers to prayer. All skills learned from previous experiences are used well at the lodge, which he co-owns with his wife Kris.
Scott loves the Lord, loves people, and is excited to see how God combines the global reach of Leen’s Lodge and E4 Project.
